Lifestyle: Aileen has a very full life. She’s a leader in biotech who also coaches and mentors at her company. She now has a hybrid schedule balancing time in the office with time working from home, she also periodically attends work related events. Married with two teen boys and a demanding career she needed pieces that make getting dressed easy in pieces that feel authentic to her. Whether she’s traveling internationally, heading to work or running around town, it’s essential that she feels comfortable in every piece.

Approach: It was time to do a major overhaul. Years of struggling to understand what pieces would flatter her frame and communicate her style, Aileen’s collection was an array of pieces that didn’t feel like her at all. She wanted easy options that helped her feel great in her body, aligned with her values and her authentic style. The top priority was listening to her and ensuring that she felt comfortable taking a big risk. She was nervous, but when her Uber Wishlist arrived, it was clear that we were on the right track. Over three years later, we continue to collaborate on additional lists (loungewear, accessories and clothing) and new outfit ideas. Initially, she was lost, overwhelmed and confused. Between listening to the Throwing Muses Pandora station and making this list, I’ve had that afternoon of dreams. Thanks for all of the inspiration. Naturally, I got carried away so you have lots of extra items. Honestly, I know you are feeling like you are in a pretty dire situation. So, we’re skipping jewelry today in favor of more clothes and shoes. Of course, we can always add jewelry on another list should you be into that.

Our focus is upping your game all over and giving you options for work and play. I paid special attention to fabrics that breathe and making it easy to layer up or down whether you are working from home or at the office. Here we go!

First up, let’s get you a hip, functional backpack for work and play. This vegan leather option is great for all weather and the color is ideal. Matt + Nat makes nice quality items and the price is stellar.

Pair it with a silk top for maximum breathability while elevating your look. This print is flattering, unique and is an edgy floral… which isn’t easy to do. This will work with virtually your entire list.

I’m OBSESSED with this. Talk about mixing masculine and feminine- this satin bomber is in an ideal color and can be worn indoors or out. Again, you are looking at an item that goes with virtually the entire list plus the items in your closet. This and the top above are both flattering for your frame, too.

Universal Standard is an ideal brand for you with high quality items in a wide range of sizes (00-32!) so you never need to worry about not finding pieces that fit. Cigarette pants are an ideal cut for you and these make it easy to pair flats, boots or sneakers depending on your vibe.

AGL makes insanely comfortable and well made shoes. These are stellar for lots of walking at the office and this navy blue textured approach brings depth and another unusual and still very functional touch to your collection. Of course, these are an ideal finish to your first outfit!

What could be cooler than this blazer?! It’s edgy, flattering and because it is cotton and rayon, it’s nice and breathable.

The photo doesn’t do this justice. It’s an insanely flattering top for your shape. The neck is wider than a crew and the cut minimizes your stomach. Plus, navy is a major win and it’s made out of Cupro and Viscose so you’ll want to wear it everyday.

I love the shoes above with the blazer, navy top and this vegan leather skirt. I know, it’s been years since you wore a skirt, but seriously, this is too good to pass up. And the price is right. There’s a good amount of leather and vegan leather on this list. Just remember to pair it with natural (or natural feeling) fabrics for the best overall look. So, cotton, linen, cashmere, denim, the collection of soft and breathable fabrics on this list. Bam!

Now, you might expect a pair of heels to finish off this outfit. But, not for you, my dear. THESE Docs are just the ticket.

Animal prints have been speaking to you and this silk blouse is a nice way to mix things up if you are working from home and want to show some style. Think of animal prints and stripes as neutrals. They work with other prints, like florals, as an example. I can help with the fine tuning of this approach, but rest assured this will be a go to top. Of course, it is stellar with the Docs above.

I know! Right? I couldn’t decide between this jacket, oh so flattering and a great color OR this skull cardigan! Why choose? Either looks really lovely with the blouse above and of course with the vast majority of tops on this list. Finish this off with any of the black options on the list.

Or, go another direction. I vote for these 7/8 pants from Boden. It’s a classic cut and the brand always carries them, just in different colors. Start with the off white to mix things up and keep your look fresh. You can wear this color throughout the year.

This top is one of my favorite things on your list. Boxy options are especially flattering and this sleeve length is a major win to help you feel good about your arms. And, buttoning it up all the way has a more masculine vibe. It’s glorious with the yellow and can be worn for work or play. Go team!

I vote for these slimming vegan leather pants in all three colors. It’s a super deal and they are useful. Trust me. Remember that the stem never clashes with the flower- green works with everything. How awesome is it with the blue top and yellow shoes, for example?

You’ll be super comfortable in this edgy option whether you are at home or out and about at the office. The leather detail keeps it elevated. I like it with any of the blouses or tees listed including the two options from Universal Standard above.

Let’s face it. You need some super versatile slip on shoes when you are heading in and out of the house. I vote for these. They can be worn at work on more casual days, too.

A functional, breathable, flattering, comfortable dress that is authentic to your style.

Two totally different options that accomplish the same goal: easy and sophisticated blouse for work. Both are breathable and work with any of the bottoms on this list.

Try either with this stellar, elevated joggers. These are a great option for work and they are super comfortable, too. Of course, they go with all of the shoes on this list and are a fun alternative to black pants or the vegan leather options.

Yes! Yellow shoes work with everything so let’s make sure you have a hip pair of sneakers for your more casual situations.

A masculine print on a super feminine top. This is all the things. It’s also designer, flattering, timeless and on sale.

The same amazing vegan leather pants- this time in off white. Try them with the blouse above or anywhere that the Boden off white pants work. Having the same color in two fabrics offers variety while keeping decision making to a minimum.

I wanted to be sure I gave you a cognac leather jacket. This moto jacket is real leather and is on sale. The color is beautiful on you and will mix and match with the list. I especially adore it with blue. I’d skip wearing a leather or vegan leather bottom + a leather or vegan leather top. Just choose between the two. One leather option per outfit with the exception of the shoes.

The most flattering tank for you. You can layer this under a jacket to stay cool and just pop on the jacket when it’s time to present.

Ponte pants are insanely comfortable and this pair is flattering, too. I like it with the top above and the sneakers below. But, as per usual, this pair works with the list:)

I can’t get enough of the silk blouses in flattering cuts for you. Sticking with this defined color palette means it’s easy to make outfits even when you are pressed for time. Olive is especially lovely with any of the yellow shoes.

This is one of my favorite things on your list. Really. I know it seems like a crazy stretch, but it’s VERY cool and we’ll be able to do a lot with it:) Trust me.

I also like that color with this dusty blue. Another balance of feminine and masculine together. Or, opt for a striped tee. This is the most flattering cut, available in several colors/prints. Another solid choice? The scoop neck tee below. I think you are getting the vibe now:)
