Wishlist Goal: Ella is married with a toddler and found that working from home during the pandemic was hitting her hard. It’s true, clothes cannot transform your life, but they certainly do help. Our goal was to help her feel beautiful, powerful and like herself every day in pieces that were effortless to throw on and functional for work and play. Because she has a petite diamond frame, it was evident that we’d be tailoring several pieces to make her feel her best. Ella also prefers to shop local or buy from women owned brands, when possible. She’s interested in sustainable pieces and pieces of quality. Really, she just wanted items that she could feel good about owning and vote with her dollar. The combination of her personal style, size, color palette and values felt very limiting and she struggled to find pieces that even appealed to her. Furthermore, she had no idea how to put them together. Enter the Uber Wishlist and outfits!

Hello there! Welcome to your Uber Wishlist. The goal is to ensure that you have a sense of your personal style, how to dress your body and a collection of pieces that make an endless number of outfits. This intentional approach reflects your values including sustainability and functionality. But there’s no need to sacrifice style in order to achieve those. We’re keeping a well defined color palette, as is shown on your personal profile, so that your pieces mix and match effortlessly without being boring. Because fit is key, I’ve prioritized items that are available in petite sizes whenever possible and leaned on sustainable offerings when available. Off we go!

First off, Velouria offers only pieces made in the US and Canada and has an aesthetic that speaks to you. It’s always a great place for you to check out clothing and accessories. These expressive earrings offer some variety on your Zoom calls and give you the chance to show your creative side while wearing something as simple as a basic tee. Consider your boundaries pushed:)

Virtually all of the jewelry on this list will mix and match easily with all of your new and existing pieces. Sticking with metallics is another great way to simplify your pieces without sacrificing style. Ballard’s own re-souL has a collection of interesting pieces at affordable prices. Whether you are working from home or playing with Simon, owning an elevated, cozy cardigan is a must have. Eileen Fisher is all sustainability and women’s leadership all the time. Teal is gorgeous on you and is a stellar alternative to black, navy or brown. Try it with the jewelry and either top above, as an example. This length also works very well with dresses.

Yes! You are right. We are not going for items that belt at the waist. But, it’s easy to remove the belt on these beauties and you’ll find yourself wearing them all of the time for work or play. Pull on culottes that come in petite sizes?! Believe it. This super soft, well made pair will hold up over time and is easy to pair.

Finish off this look with these comfortable flats from Miz Mooz. Marigold offers a fun pop of color that also works with your new and existing pieces. So, these are much more practical than they appear. When I lived in NYC, I spent my days in Miz Mooz boots. While it isn’t considered a “comfort brand” , the shoes are well made, affordable and really comfortable. These also look great with dresses or pants.

Let’s start with a mid sized pair of earrings- not too shiny- and not too small- this eye catching pair is functional and fashionable for everyday use or for client time.

Time outdoors is a major portion of your life. Whether you are on public transportation or walking, it’s essential that you are comfortable in the elements and also in your pieces. After all, you are the same person no matter where you go or who you are with. Therefore, I’ve included three coat options for you. One to keep your outfit elevated, this is especially useful when we want your look to feel polished and still effortless. One lightweight option for the shoulder seasons and one to keep you super warm and dry. This is the first.

Burgundy looks beautiful on you and will work with your entire collection. This coat is also super flattering and can go with the dressiest of outfits or a pair of jeans and sneakers.

I LOVE the idea of jumpsuits for you. They offer the ease of dresses with the functionality of pants. Plus, a jumpsuit will help you feel more elevated without going over the top. Both of these are solid choices. The Velouria choice is on the pricier side and in regular sizes (rather than petite) but feels like a small maker vibe.

Oh my goodness! Dark green super comfortable and very hip boots that go with everything?! This pair by Franco Sarto is super comfortable and functional, too.

Cut outs and open backs look beautiful on you. The key is to choose choices that flatter your frame and are super comfortable for your lifestyle. This is it! This super deal from Everlane aligns with your values and can be layered up or down depending on the season. It’s also comfortable and feminine for festivals or leisurely family time.

While you are not a buttoned up person, it is helpful for you to have the right jacket for occasions when a cardigan feels too casual… bordering on frumpy. This ponte blazer from Boden is all the things. It’s super soft and has a casual vibe. Roll up the sleeves and you’ll find that it feels just right with dresses like the one above, with pants (like any on this list) or even with a pair of jeans. I vote for navy blue. Expect this to be in your closet for years to come.

The Geneva dress has already been a major win for you. I vote for another. Cranberry is gorgeous on you and works effortlessly with your collection. It also happens to come in petite! The long sleeve v-neck version is another solid choice. This means you can skip the layering piece and make life even easier. One has a great color for video, the other has a stunning neckline and both are so comfortable you could fall asleep in them.

Get ready for magic. I told you that Miz Mooz makes super comfortable shoes. AND if you opt for the flats and the boots, you simply choose which shoe is more functional for the weather. After all, they both work with everything. I especially adore these with either of the dresses above and the Ponte blazer- but who can choose?

Monochromatic looks elongate your frame, make you feel more slender and elevate your look. This sweater can achieve all that AND communicate your values. This is the same option that I included earlier. Although this color is available in petite! I vote for both.

When time gets away from you and you need to hop on a video call, this necklace does the trick. Remember that it will work with your new and existing pieces, I especially like it with the olive green cardigan you already have. Try it with the ivory cardigan above and the dress below. Finish it with any of the shoes.

Made Trade has worked for you in the past and this is the ideal cut for your frame. Sustainable, comfortable and flattering, this is sure to be a go-to.

Black jewelry is also really versatile. Here’s a pair of earrings that are sure to draw compliments. They are lightweight and have an urban, alternative vibe.

A sweetheart neckline is just right.

How about a super comfortable pair of slides that feels unique to you? re-souL has a great pair (in two solid color options) that offer the comfort of a cork footbed with the style of a more polished woman. The hardware also draws the eye to your feet, another useful approach for your body type.

While we’re talking sandals, let’s make sure you have an attractive, cozy loungewear set. I vote for this one.

I mentioned that we’d have three coats. Here’s your second of the three. The faux fur is removable:) This waterproof, sustainable option from Boden is navy blue, super flattering for your frame and functional for your commute. I’m a big fan of this coat, the earrings below, any of the tops below that, either of the pants and the super cool sneakers to finish things off.

Lots of jewelry options here, but I know that you want to express yourself more with jewelry and unique pieces are especially exciting on Zoom.

Of course, you don’t spend all of your time working. Here’s a flattering, comfortable tee that can be used for work or play AND is available in petite for an expert fit.

Two more functional and flattering tops that can be worn in virtually any situation, depending on styling. Boxy tops are just right and vertical buttons are also a major win. Each of these is soft and can be steamed, not ironed. They are also fresher alternatives to the traditional button down.

While I know you adore dresses, I also want to be sure that you have an array of pant styles from which to choose in the future- if not now. This draped situation is a major win. Notice that each of these does not have extraneous fabric, but offers you more room for freedom of movement. The Aritzia option has more colors available and a shorter length, which is great because the company does not offer petite sizes. The Boden pair is available in petite and has an even softer fabric that is sustainable, too. I’d try both to compare and plan to return. FYI- There is an Aritzia located at U Village and another at Bellevue Square, while sizes are usually severely limited at both locations. The return window is only 2 weeks. That being said, Aritzia makes beautiful clothes that feel sophisticated and effortless. Really. So, I think it’s definitely worth a go.

Let’s give you another dress option that works throughout the year, has a gorgeous neckline and is crazy comfortable. It is also petite!

One more Supply Chain option for the win!

I want to be sure you have an adequate number of flattering tees that make you look and feel great.

This is certainly pushing you out of your comfort zone. Yes, it’s a large print. And, it’s totally possible that you’ll hate it, which is fine. But, I’m confident that it will look REALLY cool on you. It’s also functional throughout the year and gives you an opportunity to experiment. So, I wanted to include it just in case….

OMG. OMG. OMG. I’ve been waiting to get to THESE boots from Birkenstock! They look higher than they are and remember that they also have a platform. So the heel is actually 1 1/2 inches. Try them to see if it feels too high. Nordstrom has a great return policy for shoes, so you have some flexibility. These look super cool and work well for lots of walking even in the rain.

Coat number three. This lightweight wrap is available in navy and is super functional throughout the year. Sometimes a “coat” feels too heavy. That’s when this beauty steps in. Also, you can control where the belt goes or remove it all together. We can also add a button, if necessary.

And now to a collection of fun, lightweight tops that bring more personality to your overall look. This one is great for layering throughout the year and highlights earrings. It also gives you the opportunity to mix things up.

Available in multiple colors including these two favorites, this top is fun, feminine, functional AND is just right with any of the high waisted skirts or pants on this list. Really. And how great is this for festivals? So great.

Want to be sure you can pair the pants below throughout the year? You sure can. Try them with the tops above or this super soft number from Universal Standard. The color blocking is flattering for your frame and the neckline is just right, too.

Opt for the similar pair up top or go with Aritzia’s version in more colors. Again, remove the belt:) These pants are another example of how to pair the fun tops above.

And there you have it! There are lots of opportunities to push boundaries and other choices that feel more aligned with your comfort zone. I vote we try it all and see where we land. When petite options fit, they save you. money on tailoring. To be sure, tailoring can open up an entirely new world, so let’s see where we land with each of these.
