Wishlist Goal: Daniela is inherently cool and has traditionally limited her wardrobe to black and black and more black. While she had a number of really great pieces, she wanted to maintain her edgy esthetic while expanding her wardrobe. She struggled with finding pieces that fit and flattered so it was time to introduce her to new styles, brands and retailers that were flattering for her body type and consistent with her style. This list is all about pushing your boundaries while still giving you solid, functional options that are within your comfort zone. Everything is functional for your life and flattering for your shape. I’ve also included an array of retailers to give you the opportunity to experiment with some new places with a goal of having more go to options moving forward.

First up, you’ve got a number of very cool jewelry options. The idea is to up your game with more unexpected choices that mix and match with your new and existing pieces. After all, jewelry draws the eye and gives a distinctive voice to your overall look. I’m loving acrylic or glass for you. Acrylic is indestructible, so that’s always a win. There are multiple pieces on this list with varying price points. Each feels unique and still not loud. Bona Drag is a really fun place for you to hunt for accessories.

Any of those + an ankle is a major win. Good American is SO good for your figure. You can also buy multiples and return without paying, if your turn around is quick enough. Normally, Nordstrom carries this brand, but there aren’t great options on the site right now.

More expressive jewelry. Yes, the price point is higher for some pieces on this list. Go with what feels good to you. Your glorious handbags and our conversation made me want to give you more high quality, designer-esque pieces to choose from. Your vibe is naturally luxurious and let’s face it, you save on shoes. Also, everything on this list works with your Nikes, so that will simplify your life.

I do believe this is the highest ticket item on the list. It’s a love it or hate it, for sure. But, I simply couldn’t pass up including it. It’s very cool and sure to get lots of compliments. It’s also THE LAST ONE in your size, so order now, if you are into it. It can be returned:)

This is will be a go-to for sure. We want to be sure you have some cardigan options that end below your thighs and this one from Navabi is the best option. I know you’ve tried the brand before, so let’s hope this is just right. It certainly works well for layering and can be worn with any of the bottoms on this list.

Tanned leather bracelet + Designer Coat + Long cardigan + asymmetrical tee

Yes! You can wear this with a bra and a tank top. If you feel you need the support, go that route. Alternatively, you can wear it with a black or red bra to mix things up when you are going out. Or, do a strapless. Even if you wear it with a jacket over top all night, it will still look beautiful as the neckline is just right for you. Please make note of the glorious curved hemline. That means you can tuck it in or wear it out and still feel great about your shape.

I really love these IRL. A special bonus for you: they have ankle zippers that you can undo to give more of a flare effect. They are also part of Universal Standard’s Fit Liberty Program. That means that if your size should change within a year of purchase, you can exchange them for another pair in the proper size. Believe it!

Your next leather jacket option. Of course, you can opt for both as they have a different vibe and a different fit. You may choose to experiment knowing that one will go back. This one is more subdued and still very cool and understated. Again, flattering for your shape for the win.

Leather jacket + dickie

I think a dickie, which is the worst name ever, could be really great for you. They keep you warm, but not too warm and give the impression that you are rocking a hoodie, although you are not. Try this under one of the leather jackets or a blazer to keep the fit flattering while giving the impression you are layered up. You’ve got the sophisticated take on the tech hoodie.

The Tee Rex from Universal Standard is a great tee. It’s flattering, the fabric is thick, but not too thick and the color blocking on this style is crazy flattering for you. Other color options available.

Another stellar option from Good American. You can still rock a majority black wardrobe, but with a few more pops of neutrals. In that case, feel free to have waxed denim, regular black denim, distressed black denim and blue denim. Or mix it up with various cuts for more variety. You’ll see a number of options on this list.

An acrylic ring is super cool and unexpected. This knot ring is sure to get compliments and again, it works with everything. This one is available at a few retailers and has just been marked down, which is rare and exciting!

You look beautiful in white and winter white. Now, you can see that wearing either on top will balance your frame nicely and elevate your game. I vote for this moto jacket at a crazy low price to kick things off.

This top will look incredible on you. It’s the drapey vibe you’ve been trying to achieve, but in a more flattering shape. Be aware that various colors will have more shine. So just be sure you are into it or return it if the fabric is too shiny for you. It’s so good. I vote you try.

Yes! You can do blue jeans. The key is to have a flattering cut AND pair them with a bright or light top to balance your frame. The button fly also draws the eye to your vertical middle which works well with this leg line.

A great coat is hard to find. A great coat also can make your outfit. This color is beautiful on you and works with all of your new and existing pieces. The price is crazy low, too.

The right coat allows for enough room to layer a jacket underneath. That coat does the job and this faux suede jacket is another light neutral up top that will transform your look.

The same tee from Universal Standard. This one is short sleeved. It’s not sheer and is going to be very useful. The hemline empowers you to leave it untucked or tuck it in.

So, this is the worst photo ever. But this necklace is very cool. You can layer it or wear it as one extra long chain. The Museum of Modern Art is one of my favorite places for unique accessories and this is another one that is sure to draw the right kind of attention.

You look beautiful in a blazer and white or winter white blazer is super classy. This super deal is a good place to start.

This is edgy, unexpected and super functional. Layer it under any of your jackets for a very hip neckline that balances your frame.

Here’s another flattering pair of pants that gives you more variety in your wardrobe without choosing over the top pieces. The pockets are at the knees, so they are not an issue. You’ll be comfortable and feel hip. Again, this pair of pants can mix and match effortlessly with the tops on this list.

You prefer smaller earrings and silver. You can still have very expressive jewelry when you opt for this unusual and light pair from Seattle maker, Baleen.

I love this top as it flatters your frame and allows you to wear your top long and still works with your bottom half. The zippers are edgy but not flashy.

I know. This is way out of your comfort zone. Either of these coats will look super hip with any of your jeans or pants and your Nikes. They are comfortable, luxurious, unexpected and have a more casual designer vibe. Between this and the burgundy boucle coat, you’ll have all of your bases covered.

Long coat + dress

Still in the land outside of your comfort zone, let’s talk about dresses. Because you strongly prefer pants, I’ve skipped dresses and skirts with two exceptions.

This is the ideal dress for you. It’s flattering, minimalist, luxurious, comfortable AND it looks really great with your Nikes, which is major. Wear it solo or layer any of your jackets or cardigans over top. I love it with the coats above.

This crop hoodie is a major favorite amongst my clients with your figure. Really. It looks amazing on and is just right with a high waisted pair of pants or skirt. Another hip hoodie.

On a casual day, pair it with these wide leg crop jeans and a leather jacket. Finish things off with your Nikes.

Another top that looks really stellar IRL. You’ll feel beautiful and comfortable in this effortless top that looks great untucked. Feel free to layer it over anything that makes you feel a little self conscious. It really is a magical option.

I know. This is another reach. But, I couldn’t pass it up. The funnel neck is crazy cool and this will look lovely with your distressed jeans and your Nikes. Another option…. that I’m completely enamored with- the vegan leather pencil skirt below.

I know. You aren’t into skirts. I totally get it. But this skirt is totally on point for your style. When you put it on. You’ll hate it. THEN, add the pullover above or the mixed media sweater and finish things off with your sneakers. Seriously. You will look hip and beautiful and elegant and edgy all at the same time. You can also use this beauty for a night out. Pair it with a blouse and longer blazer or tee. So many options….
