Oh my goodness! I had the time of my life with this one. I can’t wait to share it with you! As per usual, we’re going with pieces that flatter your frame and staying in your color palette. Your evolving style means we’re taking a different approach. This time, sophistication is the main theme. Of course, all the pieces are functional for your life so you’ll be wearing them regularly. You may also find that because you are 5’4”, technically petite, you may need some tailoring to perfect the fit.
While we’re focusing on delivering a sophisticated vibe, we’re of course still bringing in your rock & roll/ hippie festival/ goth touches to differentiate your style. You’ve also been leaning into neutrals so you’ll see that we’re continuing that theme. This luxurious collection is all you. Off we go!
Of course, all the pieces mix and match so please don’t feel limited to the outfits I’m creating here. These just give some nice context. First up, this outfit is everything. We start with edgy but sophisticated jewelry that feels unique and memorable. This cuff and the ring will mix and match with everything and are sure to draw compliments. Wear them with casual or dressier looks.
I’m all about this bodysuit for you. Available in multiple colors, it flatters your frame and has a nice, minimalist, sophisticated vibe. It’s also great with jeans or a super casual outfit or opt to dress it up, as we’re doing here. Austin’s milder weather calls for a lightweight jacket that is versatile both for temperature and for situation. This robe jacket from Aritzia is flattering on your frame and can be worn open or closed. Make sure to pair it with heels and show your shape either by belting it in front or pulling the belt together in the back.
Alexander McQueen brings you a lot of joy. His price point is no joke. So, if this one doesn’t make the final cut for budget reasons, I totally get it. But it was WAY TOO GOOD to pass up. It’s timeless and anything but boring. Plus, with a dryer climate you can wear it for more months during the year. It’s flattering for your frame and is very much sophisticated with a 70’s rock and roll vibe. As we focus on neutrals, bringing texture into the mix is key.
And of course, what would your list be without a pair of United Nude shoes?! These are shockingly comfortable at 2.8 inches. (I have a pair in silver.) They are useful throughout the year with or without hosiery and you’ll have them forever. Plus, they are glorious with this outfit. And this is only the beginning!
Contour squareneck bodysuit. Available in multiple colors. Aritzia. $48. Content: 94% nylon, 6% elastane.
Alexander McQueen Alexander McQueen suede midi skirt. Far Fetch. $2,209 Import duties included. Also available at Nordstrom.
Another Alexander McQueen find. This one is on sale. It’s so cool, memorable and feels luxurious. Layer it up or down. It’s also eye catching without being over the top and is going to be stellar on Zoom calls. Barrel pants are all the rage right now and they are super flattering for your Inverted Triangle frame. Choose from the vegan leather or denim choices (or do both!). They each serve a purpose and are comfortable for working from home and still super hip for going out. Sticking with the same color overall elongates your frame. So, in this case, we’re using the volume of the pants to balance out the crewneck and shape of the top. You can also have a tailor turn the top into a v-neck or scoop neck if that’s more appealing to you.
Accessories really up your style game and this ring and handbag from Marcella will quickly become go-to choices. Ethically made and nice quality, especially for the price point, Marcella is a real favorite. And while we’re diving into neutrals, a sophisticated red coat is never a bad idea. Here’s my favorite for you. It will easily mix and match with your entire list while it keeps you warm.
Seattle maker Baleen created these ingenious earrings. They look like they are made for a double piercing but actually are for one hole. Edgy, functional and handmade in Seattle. And if you are wondering about silver or gold, I vote for both. Mixed metals are easier and both work well for you. All Saints has been great for you in the past and continues to have some compelling options that are ideal for your style. This mixed metal bracelet goes with everything and brings together any silver and gold accessories- from shoes to jewelry, handbags and more. Plus, how cool is it?
Marcella’s off the shoulder sweatshirt is sexy, functional and flattering. I love it for you. Try it with a tank underneath or a strapless bra, depending on the situation. Balance out your frame with these wide leg cargo pants. The shape, color and material balance your frame with virtually any top, making them a solid problem solver. To communicate your sophisticated style, luxurious fabrics make all the difference. Going with silk pants, for instance, is a game changer.
Not to be missed- the gold cross body messenger bag from Zadig & Voltaire. There’s SO much to discuss here. This brand has an array of beautiful choices that are aligned with your style. AND- it’s a French brand. In France, there are two sales every year. The government actually monitors this and retailers for the entire country do this. One of those sales is right now. So, there is no better time to buy from French brands. I stocked up on Zadig & Voltaire pieces for you on this list. The choices are beautiful and the prices are very compelling:)
Marcella NYC Lauren Sweatshirt. Available in two colors. Marcella NYC. $88. Ethically made. Lightweight European French Terry (48% Cotton, 48% Modal, 4% Elastane).
There really isn’t anything as sophisticated as a white or winter white coat. Here’s my pick for you. And thanks to the magic of Quince, it’s an incredible value. This is another piece you’ll have for years and it amps up any look. Plus, it fits nicely regardless of weight fluctuation, so it really is a keeper. You can wear it with virtually anything on this list. In this case, I’m pairing it with the crinkled leather skirt from Zadig & Voltaire. You’ve got great legs and showing them off is a major win. This skirt feels sophisticated and edgy. There’s definitely some goth/ rock & roll in there.
I really love the Frankie Shop for edgy, luxurious pieces that are not mainstream. This handbag is an ideal example of the offerings. Wear it for a night out with anything on this list. And speaking of a night out, that’s our goal with this outfit. Of course, any of these pieces can be dressed down for other situations. Right now, we’re going for sophisticated, luxurious with some goth/ rock & roll vibes. You’ll die.
Okay, so we have this magical and memorable handbag. Then we’re going to pair it with a cropped sweater. I like navy blue for this situation, but really, there’s lots of flexibility here. I offered up three choices. The All Saints sweater is an investment, but it is super cool, memorable and can be worn on the regular. Plus, you can adjust the zipper to flatter your frame. Alternatively, the cardigan is super flattering and a really cool pairing, too. Either sweater is ideal without a top underneath for this situation.
Are you ready for your life to change?! This skirt from, you guessed it, Alexander McQueen is unforgettable. It’s also super flattering for your frame and is something you’ll have forever. You can, of course, pair it with heels. In this situation, I thought I’d show you how to wear it with designer boots! The functional, hip and on sale Zadig & Voltaire boots for the win! They have a zipper so say, “goodbye” to twenty minutes of unlacing your boots every time you head inside. Finishing everything off with the gold ring, the gold touches on the boots and the gold handle on the handbag take this to another level.
I love this dress for you. It’s ideal for your frame in every way. Plus, it has a relaxed and still sophisticated vibe. I expect you’ll get a lot of use out of it. Try it in the summer with sandals or in cooler months with the boots above and a leather jacket.
This sweater is even cooler in real life. We picked it up for another client a few months back. It’s an oversized option, so you may want to size down or have it taken in. If not, just be thoughtful about your pairings to balance out your frame. I’m including it because it’s edgy, memorable, functional and it has a nice, luxurious vibe. It’s also going to be easy to pair. I’m completely obsessed with the idea of these chocolate brown suede shorts for you. Wear them in colder months with tights or sheer brown hosiery. As things warm up, try them with a tank top. Showing off your legs is always a win and shorts are more comfortable and versatile than a mini. Finish off this look with these super cool and comfortable knee high combat boots. Platforms speak to you and these pull on boots are an easy go-to.
Channeling your first Uber Wishlist, this tank top is flattering, luxurious and has a punk rock vibe. It’s the elevated version of your skull tank from the early days:) I especially love the neckline for you and feel free to wear it with a nude bra or cami underneath or go for contrast.
In the spirit of workhorse pieces that flatter your frame and go with virtually everything, this scoop neck top from Aritzia is available in multiple colors and is a more sophisticated alternative to a traditional t-shirt. One more option for barrel pants. A light color on the bottom makes this another piece that will balance out even the baggiest of sweaters- try them with the green Zadig & Voltaire sweater above in cooler weather. When it’s warm outside, finish off this look with these elegant, minimalist platform slides from Beek. They are beautiful IRL.
Does this bag look familiar? It’s the same crossbody choice that was earlier on the list in gold. Go for either. Both are going to work well in your collection and a crossbody makes life so easy. Yes, we’re going for more neutrals. Fortunately, green and blue are neutrals, too! I want to be sure you have some great options for Zoom meetings and this top is a solid choice. The sleeves mean you can skip layering and have an easy option that is flattering. These pants are gorgeous in real life. I saw them at the flagship store in Paris in October and then we picked up a pair for another client here. She’s also petite and had them tailored. They have a very cool 70’s rockstar vibe. The shape elongates your frame and they absolutely feel sophisticated and luxurious. Be sure to wear them with a heel for the full impact.
You need this dress.
And while we’re here, this is my very favorite vegan leather trench coat. It’s a luxurious choice for a raincoat. I’ve had it for several years and it still looks brand new. Choose either color and you’ll be shocked how much you wear it. It’s lightweight and timeless.
One more opportunity for this super functional and flattering scoopneck top from Aritzia and the Beek shoes. In this outfit, you can see them in another color with relaxed vegan leather pants from the Reset. They are a dark brown/burgundy color this is unexpected and still easy to pair with your collection. They also balance out your shape, are great for rain and are comfortable when working from home. Done and done!
I’m completely obsessed with this look for you. It’s got a wealthy, sophisticated rock star vibe.
And last but absolutely not least, I couldn’t make this list without including this super soft sweatshirt from Marcella. It’s flattering for your frame and is a nice cozy alternative to a hoodie when you’re at home or off to a workout.
Marcella NYC Hoyt Jacket. Available in two colors. Marcella NYC. Was: $148. Now: $133. Ethically Made. Lightweight European French Terry (48% Cotton; 48% Modal; 4% Elastane).

And there you have it! I am SO excited about this list. Have a great time shopping and LMK how it all goes.
